Ivan Kustura was born in 1951, in Slivno, Croatia. He graduated from the Art School in Split, Croatia (at that time Yugoslavia) in 1969 and then attended the Fine Arts Academy in Venice, Italy from which he graduated in 1976. After exhibitions in Split, Venice, and Milan, he moved to the United States in 1976, residing in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Southampton, NY. His numerous solo New York exhibitions included exhibitions at O.K. Harris and Coe Kerr galleries. He also exhibited at Peter Marcelle Contemporary in Southampton, NY. Ivan now lives and works primarily in Berlin, Germany, while also spending time in China and Croatia.
