George Lee Crosby

1949 - 2015

Although born and raised in New York City, the artist George Crosby is not a typical city painter. George had an active, unresting mind and traveled the world in search of inspiration. During his travels, he spent several years living in Mexico, Cuba and ten years in the Far East, eventually circumventing the globe. He drew and painted all along the way, his love of nature and humanity reflected in his subjects of various regions, from New York City, to tropical landscapes and Far-Eastern genre scenes.

The few paintings displayed here are from the artists last New York period, created while living in a Union Square studio in the 1980's.  Image of his paintings may be viewed on his facebook page, which has remained active since his early departure from the world in 2015. https://www.facebook.com/george.crosby1/photos
