Although born and raised in New York City, the artist George
Crosby is not a typical city painter. A world traveler who has lived several years in
Mexico and recently returned from a ten year sojourn in the orient, the subjects of
Crosby's paintings have ranged from New York City scenes to tropical landscapes and
Far-Eastern genre scenes. The paintings displayed here are from the artists last New York period, created while living in a Union Square studio in the 1980's.
